This Veganuary there are more plant-based options available than ever before. From vegan Cadbury’s to Quorn dinosaur nuggets, there are plenty of healthy (and not so healthy) foods to get stuck into this year.
A plant based diet is great for the planet and Veganuary can be a brilliant time to get your children to try new foods and to engage with where their food comes from. More than 20% of young people aged 5 to 16 don’t eat meat (1) and the popularity of meat free diets is rising. It’s a great time to try out all the new plant-based alternatives this Veganuary, with major brands such as Krispy Kreme and Quorn releasing new vegan ranges.
Quorn’s consumer study (2) found that 65% of UK families have tried either vegetarian or vegan meals in the last year. More plant based diets are a popular parenting trend (3) and trying out different plant-based meals is a great way to introduce new foods to your children.
On that note, here are some child friendly plant-based recipes to try out with your kids this Veganuary!
Quorn’s plant-based bolognese

Vegan fried rice with tofu scramble

Singapore noodles

Sweet potato and Rosemary soup
